Designs made of meaning, mystery, and magic.

If you’re looking for a New York interior designer with edge, you’ve come to the right place.

Welcome to Devinion Haus design studio. This is where our team works to understand what makes a home tick. We look at the history of the house, the experiences it’s had, and the architecture that holds it up, and we use all of this in our designs.

We aim to create unique spaces for clients that reflect the look, feel, aesthetic, and spirit of who they are. You should love where you live and if your home doesn’t feel like a place you want to be all of the time, something’s amiss. Think about your closet and the clothes you choose to wear—you’ve curated your collection with options you love and your clothes feel like a complete expression of you. Your home should feel like an extension of that closet you love.

Your home should embrace your uniqueness, flair, style, and every piece of your personality.

Just like your clothes shouldn’t wear you, don’t let your home be something you’re not. People may jump at the opportunity to have a magazine home, but they do so at the cost of losing themselves in the process. We believe you are the one with the statement to make.

When we design, we honor who you’ve been, who you are, and who you’re becoming, so your home can be a true embodiment of you.

What Inspires Our Designs

Those who dare to be different are the ones who are remembered.

It’s no wonder I’ve been inspired all of my life by the daring women in the architecture & interior design history books—the ones who blazed a new path so designers like myself could follow in their footsteps.

Changemakers like Julia Morgan—the first woman architect to get into L'Ecole de Beaux Arts in Paris, forever changed the landscape for women architects.

Trailblazers like Kelly Wearstler who revolutionized the interior design industry and transformed her creative and unique designs into a sought-after brand beyond interiors.

These women were bold and fearless in the face of the unknown and it’s that same spirit that runs through me today and the way I design. I like to pay homage to the historic designs and creations that have been made, but I also find ways to modernize them to truly make them my own. Because you need a strong foundation and good bones to build an empire.

Get to Know Devin Bandelli

It was when I moved to Los Angeles that I decided to start my own business. Bold decisions beget bolder decisions. I wanted to be self-made like my parents had been when I was growing up. They had different businesses that they navigated and they loved what they did, being able to make up their own rules. To start your own business takes courage, and so I leaped into the deep end, headfirst, and I ended up swimming forward fearlessly. I started with what I knew well—design—and I followed where my instincts led because they’ve never steered me wrong.

When I was young, I’d redesign my room at least once a month. I even had two Victorian dollhouses built to scale growing up. I would design every room in those houses changing up the wallpaper, furniture, and decor when I wanted. There were never any dolls in those houses, it was just the bones of the home that fascinated me most. And as I got older and my family and I traveled together, I got taken with Da Vinci’s work and his designs. Something that intrigued me about him and his work was how he understood anatomy and how the mind and body worked in connection with each other. He wanted to make everything he created as real and life-like as possible. The same approach he had is the one I carry with me today when I design homes—I want to build on the bones of what’s there and breathe new life into it.

Today, I call New York home, and love the individuality of the clients I get to work with here. Together, we find ways to add meaning, flair, personality, and pieces they love to their homes.

Deep Dive Into My Personality

  • I have a BFA in Interior Architecture and Design from the Design Institute of San Diego.

  • The Bay Area Edwardian home I grew up in was purportedly designed by Julia Morgan. Thus my love of her and for architecture began.

  • I have a love of older homes, especially Victorian homes—their beautiful craftsmanship, woodworking, and aesthetics encompass sophistication, allure, and layered textures.

  • We had a family business buying and renovating Victorian homes in San Francisco.

  • I have a passionate love for and collection of skulls (thank you, Da Vinci!) that are a staple and signature piece within my home design as it holds special meaning for me.

  • I’m in the process of creating my own furniture line, and one piece I’m working on is inspired by a trip to Egypt. It encompasses the scarab—a representation of life, light, and vision. My husband also has Egyptian heritage so this line holds special meaning.

  • I appreciate clients who know who they are and march to the beat of their own drum!

“I absolutely loved working with Devin! She is kind, organized, professional, and truly understood the vision I had for my home. She created a beautiful space that makes me and my husband so happy every day. We love hosting at our beautifully decorated home, and we always get so many compliments! Couldn't recommend Devinion Haus more!”

Why We Give Back

We believe one person can have a tremendous impact without ever knowing it. Every action we take matters, and in what we do, we want to see change happen.

We want to make an effort to understand what’s going on around us and shift our perspectives as we need to. The small changes we make can have a domino effect and can change a mindset, an industry, the world.

It’s why giving back is a core component of our business model—1% of every project is donated to Lifting Up Westchester, a New York nonprofit, and we give our clients the opportunity to match our 1%. Like me, Lifting Up Westchester believes in being bold in what they do:

They provide life-changing support to those who have lost their housing or are struggling to meet their basic needs. They are working to build a more secure future for these individuals and their families because stable housing is the foundation on which human well-being and advancement are built. Helping individuals find a home and build on that foundation leads to achieving greater self-sufficiency.

We are all about building homes and knowing that there are people in our community without a place to call home is a calling we can’t ignore as a business. So we give back to help lift up our community because “whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.” Let’s change that.
